About Us
MK STOREHOUSE exists to extend worth, by offering dignity, restoring confidence and giving hope to individuals and families in our city. We believe every person has inherent worth and deserves to be treated with respect and care. Our vision is a city where no one is held back or excluded from education, employment, or community due to lack of basic essentials.
Beyond practical provision, we are committed to creating safe, welcoming and respectful spaces where people feel seen, valued, and supported. We aim to serve with kindness and compassion, recognising the unique story and circumstances of every person we meet, seeking to reduce stigma, build hope and help people move forward.
Sadly, in our city, 1 in 3 children live in poverty, and this widespread issue affects every part of life, from physical health to emotional wellbeing, and many people struggle to afford even the basics. We provide free, quality clothing and some hygiene essentials for adults and children of school age and above who are in need and have been referred to us.
It’s more than just clothing
We meet people where they are, not just offering clothing, but a warm welcome, a listening ear, and a safe space to talk. We also work in partnership with local organisations to signpost guests to additional support with issues such as debt, addiction, or housing.
Our goal is to help individuals take positive steps towards lasting change, because everyone deserves to feel cared for, supported, and seen.
How to get involved?
You can support our work in a number of different ways:
Finance
People often think of clothing as the main thing we need (which of course, is essential), but actually, one of the largest needs we have is for vitals funds to keep running as we continue to reach 100’s across our city every year.
Also check out our fundraising campaign on GoFundMe.
Clothes
We are currently unable to accept donations.
Please check back soon for updates.
Thank you.
Time
We have sessions for clothes sorting, general tidying and cleaning of the building. We also sometimes need people with large cars and strong muscles to help us move donations around. Do get in touch if you'd like to be notified when these are taking place and what you would be happy doing.
What happens to donations that can't be used?
Where there is a need, we sometimes pass on donated clothing to other charities and agencies. Most of the clothing we pass on goes to those in need in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas, although we do sometimes send clothing further afield. Clothes that are not suitable for MK Storehouse's use are recycled and sometimes we may receive payment for the recycled items. All money received from recycling supports the running costs of MK Storehouse.
How to make a referral?
If you are a local authority, charity, faith organisation or if you are a professional working in care, health or education, you can refer to MK Storehouse individuals or families in need who you have come into contact with. If you wish to refer anyone then please complete the online referral form via the bottom below. Once the form is received, we will contact either yourself or your client with the next steps.

Annual Uniform Event
Every year, we hold a free uniform recycle event during the summer holidays. This event is open to all and no referrals are needed. During the last event, we provided basic uniform items for over 350 Milton Keynes children.
Our wish is to see no families worried that they cannot afford expensive uniforms required by schools and no child bullied for not having the correct clothing. We also hold stock of uniform all year round and will always assist those needing items if we can.
Our Uniform Event dates for 2026 coming soon!
For the past 10 years, MK Storehouse has operated as a ministry of Grand Union Vineyard (GUV), providing free clothing and practical support to individuals and families across Milton Keynes. Throughout this time, thousands of guests have been welcomed with dignity, compassion and care.
As MK Storehouse enters its next season, operations will temporarily pause at the end of December 2025, with a refresh and relaunch planned for spring 2026. As part of this transition, Garden City Vineyard will take on responsibility as the new management team, guiding operations through a transition phase, with the aim of establishing an independent MK Storehouse charity by the end of 2026.
We’re looking for a new home!
Over the past 10 Years we have operated from a unit on Hollin Lane, Stacey Bushes. Our tenancy has now come to an end and it’s now time for us to find a new home for MK Storehouse. If you know of any premises that could support the work we do, we would love to hear from you. Please drop us a line.
